Greetings from Celebrate Recovery!
As I am thinking on over the past year in Celebrate Recovery, I am thinking of all the lives that have been touched, mine included. I have seen many people who have stopped their insanity and have been working on the life that God wanted them to have. We have also met some who did not want to change their ways, or were not willing to give up all their hurts, hang ups, or habits, and continued in their sin. We do know that it is not up to us to change them, nor can we change them, we must leave it to the Lord.
These lessons that we share in the newsletter every month are just a small glimpse of the entire lesson. To learn and know the complete lesson, come to our open meetings any Thursday night at 6 pm, we would love to have you. You will find a place that is safe, and non-judgmental, where you can be start the steps of healing for your hurts, hang-ups, and habits.
The fourth lesson is on SANITY.
Strength is for when we accept Jesus as our Higher Power we receive strength to face the fears that, in the past, have caused us to fight, flee, or freeze.
Acceptance: Romans 15:7 says “Accept one another, then, for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.” This is not always easy to do, but what a blessing it is when we can accept each other unconditionally.
New life: 2 Corinthians 1:8-9: “We were really crushed and overwhelmed, and feared we would never live through it. We felt we were doomed to die and saw how powerless we were to help ourselves; but that was good, for then we put everything into the hands of God.”
Integrity: Remember a half-truth is a whole lie, and a lie is the result of weakness and fear. Truth fears nothing but---nothing but concealment! The truth often hurts. But it’s the lie that leaves the scars.
Trust: We begin to trust in our relationships with others and our Higher Power. “It is dangerous to be concerned with what others think of you, but if you trust the Lord, you are safe” Proverbs 29:25
Your Higher Power, Jesus Christ, loves you just the way you are! “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
THANK YOU once again for all your support. It is very much appreciated.
